The C2075 Performs flawlessly so far, no issues at all with receiving it fast or working as advertised. Wanted to get a K10 but they have no on-board cooling, so awaiting the K20 which should be out in a few months.

I received my C2075 NVIDIA Compute Card NVIDIA Tesla C2075 6GB GDDR5 PCIe Workstation Card in apparantly fine condition via FedEx just a few days following my order. I subsequently requested an Installation Disk, Quick Start Guide and Registration Card. These also were supplied within a days, as was information about the SabrePC and Nvidia Warranties on the product. I must wait a while to discuss my experience with the card, since it is not yet installed, due to competing commitments. But with it, I am looking forward to accelerated scientific calculations on my PC.

AWESOME graphics power for the Mac

I do a lot of gaming and now dabbling with 3D modeling/animation stuff, and I wanted to get a card that can perform well for those duties. I have a Mac Pro (2009, quad 2.66) and i got it with the standard GT120 card pre-installed. That card was ok for low-intensity applications but I could never get really high frame rates for some of my games when trying to max out the graphics settings.With the GTX285, I can run COD4 at high settings @1920x1200 with very high fps - smooth and detailed! So far, the card has not been very loud at all and haven't noticed much of an increase in heat build up.Installation is a snap. I love the modular design of the Mac Pros, it makes it very easy to upgrade components. I'm not good at all with tech stuff and I always hate having to fiddle with the guts of a computer, but this was a piece of cake.Some things to really keep in mind though:1. Follow the instructions for the installation carefully.2. Make sure you install the drivers on the CD BEFORE you open the case up and install the card.3. Attach the power cables onto the motherboard BEFORE you put the card in the slot.When you boot up your Mac, you should be good to go.Now if you are curious as to how it works in Windows under boot camp, all I can say is AWESOME again! I actually do most of my gaming on the Windows side.To install the windows drivers go to Nvidia's website and download the latest driver (they just released a new driver recently in July). I didn't install the driver until after the card was already in the machine. I was worried at first that Windows may not recognize the card right away, but it wasn't a problem. But, you do have to install the driver on the Mac side beforehand, so don't forget.Unfortunately I cannot do a side by side comparison with the ATI 4870 since i do not have any personal experience with one, but you can search some review sites that are better equipped for that. Apparently there are some things the 4870 can still do that the 285 cannot, depending on the application. But I have a feeling that with updated drivers in the future, the performance of the GTX 285 will only increase.But if you are looking to do some gaming on a Mac Pro and need to upgrade from the stock GT120 card, I highly recommend going straight for the GTX 285. Its pricey, but IMO well worth the cost.

only works with certain MacPro models

I imagine the card works fine, but the description does not disclose that it does not work with the earlier versions of MacPro. It should say"Requires Mac Pro (Early 2009 with 1066MHz DDR3 memory) or Mac Pro (Early 2008 with 800MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM memory) with PCI Express 2.0 slot. Card is not compatible with version ____ and 1,1..."Also, the instructions that are included do not say anything about installing the driver at all. So before removing your old card, be sure to run the included installer and it will check to see if your system will support the card (I regretfully installed the card first which waisted a lot of time, as the power cables are very small for full size hands to install) Since most video cards don't need drivers on a Mac, it is easy to overlook.

Installed without a hitch, working in OS X and Windows 7

This is the fastest 3D graphics card you can get for the Mac, as of this writing. Installation was trouble-free in both OS X 10.6.1 and Windows 7 64-bit in Boot Camp. My system is a dual quad 2.8GHz Mac Pro (early 2008 model). I took out the stock ATI 2600 card before putting this one into the x16 PCI Express 2.0 slot.In OS X, I didn't have to do anything, as drivers for the 285 GTX are included in 10.6.1. I did end up downloading newer drivers in Windows after installing the 285. Several days later Windows prompted me to upgrade the drivers again. Adding the card caused Windows 7 to require reactivation.For Windows gaming users only:Here are performance numbers from the Crysis Benchmark Tool running on the free Crysis Demo (not the release version of Crysis). These are using the 32-bit timedemo. Using the 64-bit timedemo with the release version of Crysis may give better results. Crysis' graphics will pretty much hammer any system, so don't let the low FPS numbers fool you. It's the most demanding game out there. Just about any other game will run very, very smooth.The first run below is for 1920x1200 all settings Very High. The second run is for 1920x1200, all settings High. It's 9.5 inches inches long, but it seems to sometimes give a 7950 a run for its money, which costs about $100 more for the good ones, and whose reference card clocks in at 11.5 inches. Battlefield 3 runs butter-smooth at 1080p, even with maxed settings. ENB shader mods and texture packs in Skyrim don't slow it down (though a high amount of mod-enhanced foliage will cause even this card to strain at times). Metro 2033 runs fine at high settings.It takes pretty much everything I can throw at it -- and it does it pretty much silently. The full "shroud" over the card ensures some noise absorption *and* reduced ambient heat inside the case. When you add adaptive Vsync, PhysX and CUDA into the mix, there's a lot to like. You can also force FXAA in the control panel when you encounter a game that won't accept your usual anti-aliasing settings and/or does not have any of its own.It has a 192-bit memory bus, which is unusually small. But this doesn't seem to make much difference at 1080p. It's not very overclockable, but when I can get nearly 7950 performance out-of-the-box at $230, and it needs just one PCIe cable (mounted on the side for better case ergonomics), I can't really complain.The Gallium 0.4 drivers in Fedora 17 and Linux Mint produce a slightly fuzzy image, though. I had to install Nvidia's proprietary drivers -- not the easiest process -- to get a crisp image. Not big enough of a deal to take a star off, IMO.If you're playing games or otherwise rendering 3D at screen resolutions above 1080p, I'd recommend AMD's 7950 or 7970, since they have more RAM and enough memory bandwidth to take advantage of it. But for gaming at 1080p, this card is hard to beat. You may want to hold out for Black Friday before getting it. But since it's only been out for about a month, I would not expect significant discounts.**Update Jan 27:** Everything's still working fine. I have updated the drivers several times without glitches. The card continues to run quietly and powerfully. Installing proprietary drivers in Linux is still pretty much necessary to get proper image fidelity (or even full desktop resolution, in most cases), but the process is noticeably easier just a few months after writing my original review. The Mageia 3 beta is the only Linux distro I've found that will not at least give me a command prompt, if it fails to load the desktop environment. On the Windows side, the recently released "GeForce Experience" software should make performance optimization much easier for people who are new to PC gaming, or if they have busy lives and not enough time to keep up on all the gearhead stuff. That piece of software does an all-or-nothing toggle, though, so it's not ideal.I have yet to encounter any game that struggles at 1080p, but I figure it's better to have the performance and not need it, than to need it and not have it. Plus, the upcoming consoles will presumably raise the bar anyway. If the rumors are accurate, they'll be using the 7970 mobile GPU from AMD to drive their graphics, and it's no slouch.

Powerful, easy to install

As an MMO player, my GeForce 310 was just not cutting the mustard for me anymore (10-15 FPS on Guild Wars 2). I did the research, decided on the GTX 660 as the best combination of power and value for me, and ordered it. Also ordered a new power supply, as the minimum for this card is 450W. Got them, put them in. As an only moderately tech-savvy type, it took me about 30 minutes to replace both pieces. Not a big job. Put it all back together, and it worked! Now, getting 50-70 FPS rate on Guild Wars 2 with everything else the same, and can run on the higher graphics level instead of the most basic graphics level. Huge difference, well worth the money, and easy to put in. Comes with a couple of cool but probably unnecessary utilities too, if you are the type who likes to know the GPU temperature and GPU fan speed all the time.

This card is amazing. It plays any game I throw at it on the highest settings. I bought a $400 Gateway at the local store, tossed this and a new power supply in and now it's a dream machine. The games I've been able to play on max settings at 1920x1080 include:Crysis: 55fpsCrysis 2: 70fpsWoW: 100fps+Skyrim: 60fpsDishonored: 90fpsMinecraft: 300fps+If you buy this card and you're currently using integrated graphics, you will not regret it. It runs idle at around 33C, and in intense games it runs around 70C. The customer support is fantastic, and it comes with a 3 year warranty. Easy Install

Arrived as promised in good condition.Hate MIR's but this time played into my decisionVery easy install--plug in card, install software and enjoy your screenUsed ver 13.1 WHQL drivers from AMD Radeon web site--Diamond CD included ver 12.3 drivers, their web site offered ver 12.4. Pay attention to disclaimers: You must first have, at least, Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on your system, I installed v4.5Spent much more time removing previous Nvidia/Physix drivers and that was NOT a straightfoward, clean uninstallInstalled today, have not played games yet, but DVD, hi-res digital pics and desktop look clear, sharp and brilliantFan is incredibly and noticeably quiet--significant improvement over EVGA card it has replacedCard/fan is uncomfortably wide--fills two slots and rests very close to a third PCI-e slotMy System:MSI 970A-G43 moboAMD Piledriver/Vishera FX-6300 CPUCrucial Ballistix DDR3, PC1600, 16 gigabytesCoolerMaster Seidon 120M water coolerCoolPower Gamer 880w dual-rail PSURosewill Blackhawk mid-tower7 system fans

Great for the price.

This card is simply awesome for the price. I currently have a crossfire setup of these. It's pretttty good. I mostly dota..so it's over kill for me, but I play othere fps's here and there. Plenty of power for the casual gamer.

The card runs everything beautifully! However, If you're in Canada, you may not be able to purchase the extra warranty offered. I wasn't able to, which bothered me quite a bit.
