5Couldn't ask for anything better
By S. Elrasoul
I just want to start off by saying I loved the card so much that I had to order another. These cards and great, most people told me to get the EVGA FTW but honestly Asus has better software and performance IMO (I will talk about the software later). The price for the card is just right. It is $100-150 cheaper than the 680 and honestly with little tweaking you can match the 680 no problem. Before I go any further, here is my rig:CPU: Intel Core i7 3770K Processor 3.5 GHz 4 Core LGA 1155 - BX80637I73770KCooler: Corsair Hydro Series H100 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (CWCH100)Motherboard: Asus Maximus V Extreme Z77Memory: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB DDR3 1600MHz PC3 12800 Quad Channel 240 Pin Desktop Memory CMZ32GX3M4X1600C10 (4 x 8GB) DDR3-1600HDD: 2TB Samsung SpinPoint EcoGreen F4 SATA 3.5" Hard Drive (32MB cache, 5400rpm)SSD: 2x Crucial 256 GB m4 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive SATA 6Gb/s CT256M4SSD2GPU: 2x ASUS GeForce GTX 670-DC2-2GD5 VGA - 2GB GDDR5 - GPU Tweak - PCIE 3.0 Graphics Card Graphics Cards GTX670-DC2-2GD5Case: Nzxt Technologies Phantom with Green Trim (Green LED) Enthusiast Full Tower Case - Phan-002Gr (Black)PSU: CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX750 V2 750W ATX 12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC High Performance Power Supply - CMPSU-750TXV2OD: Asus 24xDVD-RW Serial ATA Internal OEM Drive DRW-24B1ST (Black)OS: Windows 7 Professional SP1 64bit (Full) System Builder DVD 1 PackMonitor: 3x Asus VS229H-P 22-Inch LED MonitorAccessories: Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, Razer Star Wars(tm): The Old Republic(tm) Gaming Mouse, Astro a40sIf you not I have done barely any OC to the cards because honestly I have yet to need it. When the time comes to needing to OC it is stupid simple. Asus's program for OCing is GREAT. It is called Asus GPU Tweak and it is honestly very simple to use for new OCers and professionals. The program uses a scroll bar to set the desired number performance. You can turn on an advance mode and get more in-depth to customization. You can even set fan speeds to a "user define" mode that allows you to set at what temps equal what fan speed, all on a simple graph. The temperature, volt, usage, and clock monitor is very nice. You can set how often to check these numbers. I do want to say that having this program run during games does seem to drop FPS a little. So I cannot stress enough how great that program is and very user friendly but let me talk about the performance. As I stated in the beginning I loved the card so much I bought another. I am currently running SLI and having no problems. It was a bit tricky at first to manage everything (Not Asus fault, it was a Nvidia problem) but once I got the correct setting everything ran flawless. I am running three monitors and it look and works GREAT. I have tested BF3 with average FPS 47 (lowest 27), SWTOR with average 70 (lowest 60), and Diablo 3 running at 60 FPS (turned on Vsync). Again all this done on three monitors and not even OC. Temperatures are perfect. With the SLI graphic card one is running at 56 degree Celsius and graphic card two at 60 degree Celsius with full load, three monitors, and fans set at 50% speed. I can say I am very impressed with the temp.Overall this is a great buy, you won't be disappointed. If you are considering the 680 over this, well I can get you (or you can look online) that the price isn't worth it. You can get the same performance, if not better, than the 680. Hope this helps future buyers if I am missing something you would like to know please feel free to comment and I will do my best to help you. Thank you for reading.PS I am not a hardcore OCer so I really only OC when I need it but I want everyone to know that these cards can be pushed to the limit and if you need it they should and will handle the push without any problems.Update 8/7/12: I OCed my GPU to 1100MHz, while keeping the temp below 70C EASY. I will admit, I had to use EVGA Precision X because I noticed a problem with the Asus GPU Tweak; the voltage wasn't working, sooooooo I tested EVGA's software and it worked FLAWLESS. I will say this, I prefer Asus products but will have to pick EVGA software. :( Sorry Asus, Still love you.Powered by Unigine EngineHeaven Benchmark v3.0 BasicFPS: 87.8Scores: 2211Min FPS: 35.3Max FPS: 215.4HardwareBinary: Windows 32bit Visual C++ 1600 Release Mar 7 2012Operating system: Windows 7 (build 7601, Service Pack 1) 64bitCPU model: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770K CPU @ 4.20GHzCPU flags: 4200MHz MMX SSE SSE2 SSE3 SSSE3 SSE41 SSE42 HTTGPU model: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 8.17.13.142 2048MbSettingsRender: direct3d11Mode: 1920x1080 8xAA fullscreenShaders: highTextures: highFilter: trilinearAnisotropy: 16xOcclusion: enabledRefraction: enabledVolumetric: enabledTessellation: extremeUnigine Corp. © 2005-2012Was just playing Smite and Arma 2 DayZ and the temp got to 54C (with 3 screens) and THAT ALL. Asus products own lol. Just wanted to voice my opinion again :D*Note I am not changing the above review because at the time the software worked great but an update seemed to have made it non functional. I still give them credit because it is a simple UI and worked but EVGA just has a better OCing program.

5ASUS Takes the Prize
By PlanetJumper
There are several GPU aftermarket designers out there, but after having issues with a brand new EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Superclocked Edition, I decided to do some research on reviews for aftermarket designers. Before I discuss why why ASUS is a superior aftermarket designer, let's look at the operating conditions and physical condition of the new EVGA card when it arrived. To begin, when I noticed that my EVGA card was getting really hot running Planetside 2 at max settings, I knew something was wrong. I did not know what the operating temperature was at this point, but decided to install EVGA Precision X and adjust the fan speed. Since I did not know what speed to set it at, I decided to put it on auto and adjust the fan curve. At 40 C the speed was set to 40%, the minimum setting, with no noticeable fan noise above idling, but there was a nasty mid/high-pitched sound resembling an almost imperceptible annoying squeak. This made me feel like there was something wrong with the bearings, or perhaps poor design in the heatsink assembly. I adusted the parameters so that 50 C corresponded to 50%, 60 C to 60%, and 65 C to max fan speed, which for the EVGA model happens to be 73% for the user. At these settings I ran Planetside 2, and did not experience game crashing, but did notice that the operating temps at max user-adjustable fan speed were around the upper 60s. This is not good, since the GTX 660 is supposed to be able to run most games of this calibur at 1080p without breaking a sweat. If the max fan speed only keeps it just under 70 C, there is a problem because this means anything more intensive than Planetside 2 will run at really high temps without any more fan speed to limit the temps. That wasn't the worst part; at around 55% fan speed the EVGA cage fan was so loud that it sounded like it would wear out in a month. Needless to say, I felt like I got cheated spending over $200 on the EVGA card, and I was designing a relatively quiet system in any event, so this was unacceptable. In addition to this, when my ASUS card arrived, I inspected the EVGA card on the opposite side of the GPU and found that there was an on-die capacitor missing. There was only one where there was supposed to be 2, and since there were no visible solder breaks, it appeared that it simply wasn't installed. This was most likely a manufacturer error. After a week's worth of research I decided to go with ASUS, because the user opinion of ASUS as a reliable and brilliant company was overwhelming. Running Planetside 2 and leaving the fan speed alone, the card was running at firmware settings. It was hovering at peak operating temperatures of 68 to 69 C. That wasn't bad. Then this evening I messed around with the fan settings (still using EVGA Precision X). Playing around with the settings, I found the upper bound of where it did not make any noticeable difference in noise and ran Planetside 2 at max settings. The fan speed at this level was 65%, and at this level the maximum temperature of the ASUS GTX 670 CU II turned out to be a mere average of 52 C with momentary peaks of 53 C. This is phenomenal. The overall design of the ASUS card looks very clean and organized. It just LOOKS like a better card, but the performance speaks for itself. I am happy with ASUS and am now a loyal customer. Thank you, ASUS, for caring about your customers. Keep it up!Here is my build:Coolermaster HAF X case with no additional case fans installedASUS Sabertooth Z77 motherboard(optional fans installed)Intel Core i5 3570K processorZalman CNPS9900MAX-B CPU Cooler with Arctic Silver thermal compound16GB of Corsair Vengeance RAMASUS GTX 670 Direct CU II 256 bit 2GB Graphics CardOCZ Vertex 4 128GB SSD (boot drive)WD Caviar Black 1TB HDD (backup and general storage)ASUS DVD Drive (the cheap $17 one with the awesome reviews)Corsair 750 Watt Builders Series 80+ Bronze Power SupplyTP-Link 450 Mbps N-Wireless card (running Ethernet to the basement is not practical)Microsoft Windows 7 OEM Builder's version (don't get me started on Windows 8!)Plantronics Gamecom 780 Headset(cause it's awesome and around $57 for a nice 7.1 Simulated Surround Headset)Logitech MK520 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse2x ASUS 20-inch monitors with DVI connections (this card supports 4 concurrent monitors!)It's a basic starter system (lol). You will no doubt notice that I incorporated 5 ASUS components in this build. If ASUS made fusion reactors for starships I would buy several of those as well.

1Memory corruption
By Theodore
Bought two of these, then I started getting these strange texture artifacts (green halos, texture jittering and tearings), after many tries I finally managed to localize the problem to one of the cards. I tested it with memtestG80 using only 1200mb of video memory and it showed me about a couple of thousand errors, while normally working card showed none. I managed to navigate through asus support site to initiate RMA and sent the card. It's all went fine, I'd been grievously waiting then finally got my card back, but here's the real kicker: after I got it and tested it, still the same amount of errors were present, I don't even know if they touched my card at all. Now I will have to RMA it again. I, of course, won't get any compensation for transportation expenses.
