While this product works somewhat in Windows Vista, it is a complete waste of money in Windows 7. The drivers supplied by the company do not allow you to move the monitor in Windows 7 (per their website). However, if you install their buggy drivers, the monitor still does not work correctly.Buy something else!

While a valid try, this video card-via-USB-dongle just didn't work for me. Drivers took several install/uninstall routines just to get them onto my Windows Vista machine with 4 GB of RAM. Once I got the drivers installed, the configuration seemed fairly straightforward, using the icon in the system tray to configure the second monitor. The response times on both monitors were less than stellar, however, with lots of pointer "stutter" from my wireless mouse, and plenty of lag. This could be due to some weird conflict between this USB-to-VGA dongle and my other three devices at the USB level, though. After turning the second monitor off, rebooting the machine, and unplugging the USB-to-VGA dongle before startup, the wireless mouse and wireless keyboard responded as well as they did pre USB-to-VGA dongle configuration. USB can theoretically support up to 127 devices on one controller with supposedly no issues, so I don't think it's the USB ports/controller, or the other three devices that worked fine prior to using this USB-to-VGA dongle.I wouldn't recommend this to anyone wanting a second monitor for anything that's CPU intensive, such as graphics editing, video watching/editing, or gaming; just too choppy and unrepsonsive. For some reason, even when I tried playing an enhanced CD with the USB-to-VGA dongle and monitor connected, the response times increased several fold, as the mouse stalled and became unresponsive for long stretches (easily into the minutes). Even trying to scroll through simple, multi-page documents became a laggy hassle. Again, after disconnecting the dongle, things returned to normal.I'll give Tritton some credit for trying. I for one will be immensely happy when the day comes where we can do these types of upgrades without opening cases and replacing power supplies, cables, etc. Until things improve however, I can't recommend this product. The response times are just too slow to even make reading a document (my lone reason for wanting a dual monitor setup) worth the money or effort. If you need a dual-monitor setup, either install another video card adapter, or look into products like the Matrox DualHead2Go, DUALHEAD2GO - Dual Analog Edition, which I haven't tried yet. Given the Matrox's price, installing another video card, and a power supply if needed, might be cheaper in the long run.

I bought this to create a 3 screen setup for connecting to my company's network and working at home. I have a laptop and (2) 22 inch lcd wide screen monitors. I drive one lcd off the laptop output and the second lcd from the Tritton. It works perfectly and there is NO lag time or slow response issues at all. I usually have 4 office apps and about 12 browser windows open at one time, no problem. I like the home setup so much, I'm doing the same thing at work. Save money. If you don't need resolution higher than 1600x1200, this is PERFECT. I bought mine at Best Buy on sale.
