Great balance between value and performance
By T. Q. TRAN
I bought this to replace a 7900GTX. For $130, it exceeded all my expectations. WoW runs on ultra at 70FPS. Planetside 2 on high and no shadows at 60FPS. What's more is that it's compact and completely silent in my case. I'm sure the higher end models will perform better, but the price seems to skyrocket after this model.

A big jump from my old 9800gt
By J. Drew
I replaced my old 9800gt with this card. My 3Dmark Vantage score went from P5892 to P11460. My WEI ( windows experience index) score went from 6.8 to 7.3 on graphis and gaming graphics. It runs pretty cool and quiet so far. Best of all in fits inside of my older Dell case . It only uses a single slot on the back of the case, (dell puts the PCIe x16 slot at the top so you can't use a dual slot card there.)

Excellent whisper quiet card
By W. freeman
Well when i got my gaming rig back in 2009 i made sure it wouldn't be obsolete for quite sometime. So back then i stuck a nice XFX Radeon 4850 in my system, and it works great for games then. Well when 2011 rolled around, the card began giving me the blue screen of death, so i knew it was failing/and overheating. So I bought a ATI 6770 which was quite a step up at the time, with just a few less features. So i've used that card since, well recently the card started to make the infamous, clicking fan sound. Yes i know uh oh, already. Only had the card over a year. The card still works great, and the temperatures are decent but you can tell it may go at any time.So that brings me to this card. Actually before purchasing this at my local BB, I went for the XFX ATI 7850, way more brawn, speed etc. What i didn't know is it would make my nice quiet gaming rig sound like a desktop that hadn't been cleaned of dust for 2 years. The fan was ridiculously loud and i just couldn't take it. I think there was definitely a problem with it, I work on computers, so I tend to know when somethings just isn't right. Also testing the card on full load it shot up in the 90's C, that's a big no no, considering the 6770's highest temperature was like 85 C, and that was after quite sometime. Not immediately. So my first thought was ok, time to switch.I immediately went up and got the 2gb GTX PNY 650. Read about it before hand, actually used a laptop that had one in it, so i knew it would work well. Also i realized i didn't need to crank everything up to as overkill as possible. Especially since i own a PS3 and Xbox as well, but i only game when i have time. So the 650 fit the bill well. The card is actually kind of ugly, and plain, but what are looks in a graphics card, honestly? Just like the picture, it's a giant fan, on top of a giant heatsink, that sits on top of the circuit board. Also the card is small, yet still more powerful than the 6770, and some others in the price range.I ran the "new" DMC on ultra settings, great looking game, good framerates and the PNY doesn't even sound like it's under any strain. Very quiet. I might add that it idles at about 32 C all the time. After playing the game is was at about 67 C. Which is great. Then i tried Dead Space 3, not many settings for this game, but I played it on high just fine. The temperature raised to a mear 72 C after a while of gameplay. Now if this had been the 7850, i would be half deaf, not wanting to play it, and it would be well over 85 C. So finally i put it to the test everyone does. Battlefield 3 of course. I don't care about Ultra settings, to me high and very high are all the same. With a little Anti-aliasing, no motionblur (which i hate anyways), and a few other adjustments this game ran great at full 1080p (Very High Settings) with no problems to speak of. Unless you have 10/10 vision you wouldn't even know this card only has the 128bit interface. Again like i said, who cares. The 2gb of DDR5 definitely help give this card its power. And that's all i need, and i think most people as well. Unless you're hardcore, which i am not.All the other games mentioned were at full 1080p as well. Now i'm just waiting for Bioshock Infinite, to see how well it does. Regardless, I think it will do fine. Ultra, High or whatever i set it too. And i can enjoy it without sounding like i'm being attacked by vacuum cleaners. So enjoy, or go out and buy what you like. Personally this plays everything i need how i need it to.My rigAcer Aspire M5800 (Wide Multimedia Desktop)Core 2 Quad Q9400 2.67 ghz (equal to the first I7s)8 Gigs of DDR3This is a very expandable and dependable rig. Never had a single problem with it. Only problem is they don't make them anymore.Anyway, game on.
