Good, fast, easy.
By Andrew F.
This graphics card works well, in most games. Most games run well on low-medium setting on a good resolution. As a matter of fact I think it could run better but I think that my CPU is bottle-necking it. I have a 2.1 GHz Anthlon 64 X2 4000+ Brisbane, I think that may be too slow for this card. The graphics part of my Windows Experience Index jumped from 3.2 (integrated graphics) to 6.7 (6.9 W/ overclock.)The card was very easy to install on a PCI-E 16x 1.1, just pry out the small piece of metal protecting the slot (if your computer has one) and push the card in along the guides. Make sure there is nothing blocking the ventilation from the fan.The card runs very cool, going up to about a max of 62C while running a stress test. It's even overclocked a bit! Idle temp is about 38C while in an ambient room temp of 72F. Fan is barely audible at idle (39% speed) or under high performance mode (48% speed). Even at 100% speed it's almost unnoticeable while wearing earphones.I have it slightly overclocked with the AMD software (875MHz Core 915MHz Memory) and like I said, it still runs quiet and cool. Just make sure that if you're overclocking to check it with a stress testing software to make sure it still runs cool, that your system is still stable, and that there is no graphical glitches. I found that if I push the memory past 950 MHz then I get occasional dots or flashing parts, so I pulled it back a bit. (I used FurMark)I haven't tried using the HDMI port yet, I'll update the review when I do. But both the VGA and DVI work well on my 19" LCD computer monitor. I also haven't tried using more than one display, again I edit if I do. See edit 2I just sent out (3-10-2012) the rebate using the "fast" option which reduces the waiting time from 6-10 weeks to 5-10 days for 1$. Rebate was easy to print out as the form is made for you, you just have to sign the paper you print out. The rebate is sent on a prepaid gift card from American Exp. I'll update it once I get the rebate back. Check edit 1Overall this is a very good card for the money, especially with the rebate.Pros:-Good performance for the price-Runs cool and quiet-Supports multiple displays and crossfire-DirectX 11-VGA, DVI and HDMI (3D)-Low power consumption (not sure exactly how much but a bit less than 75W)Cons:-Graphical glitches when I go past 950 MHz-Isn't going to run stuff like Crysis 2 on high, but that's expected from the priceOverall, this is one of the best (if not THE best) cards you can get in this price range and not requiring direct power from the PSU. I would highly recommend this card to someone on a tight budget.Edit 1: I got the rebate back about 2 weeks ago, just as promised.Edit 2: I tried using two screens and it worked perfectly. I used VGA on my computer monitor (1440X900 60Hz) and had DVI connected to a 1080p 30Hz screen and I barely noticed a drop in performance.Edit 3: The price seemed to have fluctuated a bit, but it's back to a good price. I just got a new computer and installed this as soon as possible. Surprisingly, even with the overclock still active, this runs well on a 300W PSU. I sure Dell gave conservative estimates on the power, but considering it's also powering a 4 core processor, it's doing well for 300W. Most games work well (30+ FPS) with okay setting on a 1080p resolution.

Excellent Card

Received the card about a week ago and installed it in a 3+ year old Dell Inspiron 530 with Intel Pentium E5300 dual core processor, 3GB DDR2 RAM, 800 MHz bus, and slow integrated graphics, and with nice Dell 19" LCD monitor.Very satisfied. Inexpensive at $60 after shipping and rebate and works with existing 300 W power supply. Very quite. No problems at all. Runs great. Runs basic games (Minecraft, Amnesia, TF2, Portal 1) on max settings at smooth playability. Amnesia looks awesome. Big time improvement over my existing integrated graphics that could barely run Minecraft on low settings. Now set at "fancy" on Minecraft.I did have to take housing case off computer to install the card. Just taking the faceplates off the card slots didn't give enough room to slide in the card.I installed drivers from CD, and then downloaded and installed the latest driver package from online AMD Catalyst, which I think was the same as on the CD. Resolution came out 600 x 800, and had to adjust to the max resolution for the desktop to look normal. Overall, install was very easy, and any slowness or uncertainty dealing with the drivers and getting the card going was due to my ineptness. (Did everything with existing VGA cable/connection from the integrated graphics or from the card, and then at the end of install, switched to the new DVI cable from card to monitor).Installed new dual link DVI cable (make sure you do not get fake dual link cable with dual link connectors but single link wire). When finally changing from VGA cable to DVI cable, as I did, make sure to go to monitor menu and change analog to digital, or you will get the black screen when relying on the DVI connection from the card to the monitor. Will be trying Dirt 3 and Diablo 3 tonight. Every indication I have read is that I should get at least 30 fps with both on ultra settings. Will give update in this review based on actual use after tonight. Have not tried getting rebate yet.I prefer to buy on Amazon but got this card on Newegg for about the same price but it was immediately available and also received free Dirt 3 coupon. This is an excellent buy for a 3+ year old basic computer system. An existing 250W or 300W power supply will work. The only two stronger cards that are a drop in with existing low power supply are the HD6670 GDDR5 and the HD7750. The 6670 GDDR5 version doesn't really make sense because for its price, you should get the the newer-technology and more powerful 7750 ($90 after rebate) but the 7750 seemed overkill for my old system and CPU. One advantage of the 7750 is that you would see better performance even in the old system, also one may be more likely to remove it at a future date and put it in a new system.CONCLUSION: While the HD7750 has replace the HD6670 as the new standard for the strongest drop-in card for existing low power supply, this Sapphire HD6670 at $60 after shipping and rebate is an excellent quiet choice, especially for tame gaming and an existing old system.

Great!

I purchased this card so I could play Diablo 3 on my 5 year old Inspiron. The onboard graphics card was not compatible. The Radeon 6670 brought my Windows rating from 3.4 to 6.8 and I run Diablo 3 from medium to high settings. This is an easy and inexpensive upgrade.
