Spock would not complain about noise + it has great performance

*Noise and Difference Between Commercial Grade and non-Commercial Grade*First, I think its important to emphasize that this card is quiet because several reviewers of its non-commercial grade sibling complain about noise. This is the commercial grade flavor, and it added *no* noticeable noise to an already quiet (Lenovo E31 small form-factor) workstation. In comparing pictures of this and the non-commercial grade sibling on PNY's website, it looks like the commercial grade card has a different heat sink that is longer. Possibly, it has a different fan too, but the bottom line on its noise is that even Spock, with his ultra-sensitive Vulcan ears would not take issue with the card's noise. This one comes with a VGA to DVI adapter, and it looks like the non-CG card does not. The color of the circuit board also appears to be different.*Performance*I needed a low-profile GeForce or Radeon card that consumes 39 watts max. This criteria vastly limited the choices. This one consumes only 27.7 watts (according to PNY's website), which is very very low when compared with most all cards meant to accelerate DirectX. I'm not a hard-core gamer, but my son is and he tells me he notices no difference between this and his GTX card. My only complaint is that I would prefer two DVI or two DisplayPorts. With an HDMI to DVI adapter, I'm able to use the HDMI port to drive my second monitor.With this card, Windows rates the "Gaming Graphics" at 6.5 and "Graphics" at 5.3. On a scale of 1 to 7.9, that's not the very highest score, but its well above middle of the road. Factor in only 27.7 watts of power and a $63.00 price-tag and and you have a 5 star card.

Good VGA card

This is a good vga card, works good, i bought this for output of HDMI to my TV.The cons i can see on this card is this does not come with low profile brackets, i have a desktop that is thin and i have to rush to local stores to get the low profile brackets and i spend additional 15usd to get the low profile brackets, i would like to suggest to seller to take more money with this card and provide low profile brackets as well.

Great Card for Mac

This is very good price for low badged card.If you play games once a week this card is for you. But if you play more than once per week get the Rodeon 8500 much better perfomance.Other than that this card has exelent 2D and 3D quality, very crisp and sharp colors. ATI always was making better quality from Nivida especially in 2D.Get this card you will not be sorry.PS. no problems with instaling or drivers.

Good card for dual monitors.

I don't do any gaming, so I can't speak for how well this card works for that. However, looking around the internet for reviews of this card, it was really tough to tell whether it was going to do what I needed it to do. So hopefully this review will help someone else who is as confused as I was.

I bought this card to be able to use two monitors on an older Mac G4 (the newer ones come with that capability) running OS 9.2.2. The card was unbelievably easy to install (run the software/drivers installation on the CD first!), even for someone who had never done anything inside the computer before.

Once the installation was complete, I just plugged in both monitors and turned the computer on, and BAM it worked like a charm. It did exactly what I needed it to (and was VERY easy to maneuver -- I switched which monitor was on the left and which was on the right with no problems at all).

Highly recommended if this is what you're looking to do!

I have purchased EVGA products in the past. Their customer service is the best around. I recently had a EVGA card purchased in 2007, received RMA and they sent me a replacement card 3 days later.With the brand determined, I selected the GTX460 card after reading the reviews on the new FERMI cards and this card seemed to be the card that had the best value for the money (over spending 2x for the higher versions).There is nothing I can't run on it's highest settings. I stepped up from a EVGA GTS8800, so this card rocks!Despite having the "external exhaust" feature, this card does create some heat. Just make sure you have enough case cooling. No real problems in my rig...just pointing that out.One very important feature in the EVGA product model numbers: "AR" means LIFETIME warranty. Other model numbers mean 2 year, 5 years, etc. Pay attention to this because you will find less expensive cards with a lesser warranty. See their web [...]

EVGA GTX 460 delivers

I bought this on the recommendation of a friend. I was going to get another brand of the same card, but this one has a limited lifetime warranty. Of course what the hell does a limited lifetime warranty mean.It also had a better heat sink than most others. The price is hard to beat. Popped it into my machine and instantly cranked all my games settings to ultra. Boom done.

Picked this up for $220, lifetime warranty, huge upgrade from the old 8800GT. Very quiet, but make sure to check your 12V rails and ensure it can push 24AMPS+ to each rail, takes up to 300W's by itself at full load. Great pickup.

Decent card, extra accessories, useless included software.

I got this card because it was the best Nvidia card I could find that my 305W Dell power supply could handle. I'm currently using it with a Viewsonic 19" widescreen monitor. It was my first time installing a new graphics card on my own, and the instructions included for putting it in were easy to read and understand. They include some good tips for beginners. Up until I turned my computer on again, it was fine. Once I popped in the installation CD, it wouldn't find video card so I couldn't install the drivers from the CD. This was after uninstalling previous drivers, and my comptuer was in fact picking up the new card. So, I went ahead and got the drivers off Nvidia's site. I recommend doing this either way, since this way you can be *sure* you're getting the latest drivers.After installing and restarting, I tried to change my resolution to my previous 1440x900. No dice. There were other higher resolutions, but not this particular one, even after fiddling with the refresh rate. So I went ahead and opened up the Nvidia control panel and manually customized the resolution settings. It's not hard to find the right values to enter online, so if you're having the same problem I had a quick google search should give you what you need.Once that was done, I played a quick game(not particularly graphics intensive), and it did run much more smoothly compared to the ATI card I had before and even better compared to the integrated graphics I had to deal with when the ATI card died on me. I'll try some other games and update my review with the results I get.Pros:- Good price for a card in this range.- Includes a couple of accessories which might be useful for some.- Good instructions for first-timers in regards to physical installation.- Easy installation with the right drivers(which must be taken from the Nvidia site, at least in my case).- Once issues are resolved, works pretty well.Cons:- No Direct X 10 support--though I don't need this, and I suspect that someone who does would be looking at a different one.- Software was useless in my case, could be a problem if you don't know how to find the drivers.- Workarounds for resolution problems might be confusing to beginners.Overall, this is a great upgrade if you're using your pc's onboard graphics currently, though it does have its faults. I'd recommend this to anyone whose power supply can't handle one of the better cards out there or anyone looking for a decent upgrade from a low end card or integrated graphics. Just be aware that you might have some little problems here and there, but these can be solved rather quickly if you know what to do.Edit: This card is still going strong 3 years later. I've since built my own PC with a different card, but my boyfriend inherited my old Dell with this video card and I don't think he's had any problems at all. Obviously you can't put the settings all the way up for gaming, but it works!

Good product, but read this first before you buy.

We have this graphics card in our Gateway Media Center computer. Like a previous reviewer, we could not get the drivers to install off of the CD that is provided with the card. We were moments from putting the darn thing back in the box to return it when I read a customer review (here on Amazon) from someone having the same problem. He mentioned that he finally installed the drivers by downloading them directly from the Nvidia website (NOT the PNY website)! We were so lucky that we saw that review because that is exactly what we did and now the graphics card works just great! There is definately a big problem, at least with some installations, trying to use the cd in the package!

I built my own system and installed dual PNY GeForce 7600GS DDR2 512MB PCIe video cards. Running XP Professional (32 bit)I had no problems with drivers or with my machine hanging-up...the games run great and it is much better than my old 128MB card...

Amazing gfx card!

This card has all the power and cooling for any game you could throw at it! I run bf3/Sc2/ Far cry 3/ basically any game out at the best graphics settings and I still get over 60 FPS! Amazing card comes with an automatic overclock and a blower fan that keeps the card cool. I have a fan cooled case and my card never gets over 70 degrees C while playing video games for extended periods of time. Amazing card 5/5 stars would recommend to anyone!

Even on a older Quad core this card has given the old PC new life, I can run 1080p resolutions with everything maxed where previously I needed to turn off most items with a 8800gtx.

I've recently purchased a refurbished hp envy phoenix 1414c from best buy for $500 (couldn't resist the steal).However the prebuilt came installed with the radeon 7460 which wasnt going to cut it. So i searched on amazon and stumbled upon the MSI AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB. (best graphics card for the money btw) after buying this and a PSU of 550w i couldn't be happier. AC3 and Tomb Raider (mid-low settings) were okay on the 7450, but look amazing on this bad boy (High settings). Moderately priced but great upgrade!

For the money it's hard to beat this card. I bought this card in early September, 2012 and I've been using it since. The only graphics cards out now (ca. 12/14/2012) that perform better than this card start at $100 more (i.e. GTX 660) with only about 10-15% better performance. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. I get a consistent 60FPS in Elder Scrolls: Skyrim at maxed out settings with about 35 mods installed and most of those are mods that add lots of high resolution graphics to the game, and I have a system that's pushing 5 years old!My setup:Intel Q6600 @ 2.4GHz8GB Kingston memoryThis cardMSI g41m-p23 mainboard1TB Samsung HDD @ 7200rpm
