Fast card

This is a good card for enthusiasts. Note that the second number is an 8, meaning that it's meant for us. Runs Combat Arms, Home Front just fine with high settings. Also all those mmorpg games. This is a great product. In heft, it makes the GTX 460s I've got in another computer feel like inflatable toys. It's solid, though the 460s (an SLI pair) are a bit faster. The only con is that it draws 290 or so watts wide open, so have a big power supply. Also, I tried running two of these in a crossfire pair and my computer could only find 3 of the GPUs. Probably my motherboard; don't know.

I have a windows 7 computer with an on board graphics card (430 nforce) that only had 256 mb of memory max. This gt610 card has been a huge improvement. I uploaded before and after pictures of the Windows experience index. These numbers show that desktop performance was only slightly improved going from 3.4 to 4.2, but gaming graphics was greatly improved. That number went from 3.2 to 6.2. On pretty much all games I had to play on lowest settings or their would be horrible lag. Or there was so much lag on even lowest settings that it was unplayable because I couldn't move my character at all. Now I am able to play mmorpg games like ether saga on high settings with no lag. I also am playing Serious Sam 3 on medium/high settings with 1600x900 resolution and getting no lag (30 frames per second). There is only a very tiny slow down if I max the settings. I am playing Alice the Madness Returns on high settings/resolution. Only a slight slow down on max settings. Other games like Bioshock (1) run on max settings. Skyrim is on high settings and lags enough to be annoying. Would be more playable on lower settings, but before this new card, I couldn't even play the game it got stuck at the intro movie. I am confident that I would be able to at least play without lag any new game out there, even if I had to put it on lower settings. It supports directx 11 and physx. The physx on Alice makes the game AWESOME! It also supports a long list of games on the market that are in 3-D! Alice the Madness Returns is one of these games and it truly looks 3-D. I wanted to reach into my monitor it looked so real! You just turn on 3-D is the nVidia control panel and you can look at 3d pics/vids/games. You can use red/blue glasses or others more high end viewers. When installing this card, make sure to push it into the pci-e slot all the way or your computer will not recognize it. Also, update the drivers using the cd, restart your computer then go to the nVidia site and download the new updates, or the card won't be running at it's full potential. Windows update may also help. I had to go into the bios at startup and change the video card slot to be default pci-e as mine was set to onboard. I have an emachines 1330. It has 8gb RAM, 2.4GH duo processor. This is a great card for the money! Run some searches for the speed of this card and compare it to others and do some research on what all the numbers mean so you can be confident that you are getting what you need. I would recommend this card to anyone who wants to play games but needs something really cheap!

Seems to be worth it

I got this at Best Buy for about 70 bucks, so you save if you buy it through Amazon. I haven't had any issues, it runs everything fine. I can play Minecraft on the highest settings, but my computer needs more RAM to continue that, so if you have the right hardware, you can play a lot of things on high settings. I tried Skyrim, and it could handle it on medium without lag, and Ultra with lag, so if you want to play games on the highest settings, perhaps get a better card, but if you just need one that will let you play basic games on decent settings, this is a good card to get, maybe not the best card for the value but if you do more research than me than you can certainly get what you want for a better price. Easy to install, both hardware and the drivers, and not too power demanding, need a 350W power supply or better use, I recommend a 400W at least then, which you can get for about $35 to $40, so not too much. The games are just reference points, if it helps at all then great. If you can find a better card for a similar price, then you might be better off, but this is by no means a bad graphics card.

Does the Trick

I'm not a tech guy. Just a guy with a computer. I'm running an HP Slimline in a hot, dusty environment. I've gone through three NVidia GeForce 210's. The fan-bearings failed in all three in a matter of months, causing the cards to overheat and fail.I then tried two EVGA Passive (fanless) 210's. Both failed within 45 minutes.I've been running HD video through this 5450 for over 24 hours straight now with no problems at all. I think I've finally got a winner. And if I don't, I'll update it here.

Great little htpc card

Card works perfect for htpc build. Ran into a little problem though,installed card then got newest driver from Amd, that was the mistake. It would constantly blue screen so I just let windows install the Asus driver and voila card works perfect.

Worked for a week or SO...

this video card was installed in a dell 8400 desktop, worked great for about a week and then started flashing from the screen to a black screen. I switched back to my old card and had no issues, just to make sure it was in fact the video card. I guess you get what you pay for, retuned for a refund!!

AMAZING!

Listen guys, this video card is an absolute beast! Runs BF3 on ULTRA! Understand that a good cpu will be needed for this game to run (quad core) but this card is amazing! The MSI Afterburner allows for easy overclocking past what it comes overclocked with. I didn't touch mine because once I saw it could run BF3 on everything ULTRA I didn't see a reason for it to OC anymore. This card is rather large, so make sure you look at the specs to make sure it will fit! This card is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a investment to run games in the future and is a moderate to avid gamer. Someone said something about the drivers being and issue, but I had no issue. Oh, and I have good airflow in my case and this only runs about 55-60C on ULTRA for BF3. It stays cool (by GPU standards) and is well... AMAZING!

Enthusiast price, Professional performance

I needed a GPU solution capable of outputting to three full HD displays for a total resolution of 5760x1080. Due to this high resolution across three monitors, VRAM was critical which is why I settled on this 2GB card as opposed to a higher-end 1GB card. The reasonable price of these cards allowed me to order a pair and set them up in SLI. I expected only moderate performance (read: framerate) due to my "extreme" resolution and the fact that this processor is over one year old now. In fact, I was blown away by the performance of these cards, as well as their overclocking headroom and low temperatures. There is some confusion online about these cards having VRAM issues. Allow me to assure you that these cards have been revised and now feature a VRAM heatsink as well as a strengthening bracket which reduces sagging.I currently run both cards at 975MHz core clock and the cards stay well below 70C in a 20C ambient environment. My games give me a conservative 40-60 FPS on highest settings with no/low AA or AF. The framerate is always consistent with no lags, artifacts, or general instability. I have heard of people running these at 1GHz with no stability or temperature problems, however I don't see this as necessary. Most of the usable/noticeable performance increases will be lost after the ~950MHz mark (IMHO).A note on overclocking: My experiences may be better or worse than someone else with an identical card or pair of cards. While I think I can safely say that everyone who buys this card will be able to pull an extra 20-30MHz extra from their core clock at least, understand that there is no guarantee to what kind of results you will get and that you do so at your own risk. If you plan on OCing, using the MSI Afterburner utility is a must. It's great software and it comes with the cards on a CD.

Fast card, quiet

This is great. I have a 1600x900 monitor and it plays most of my games with anti-aliasing on at high details. Starcraft II and Diablo III never even drop below 60fps, and games like Max Payne 3 and Alan Wake play on high details fluidly. Can't believe what $110 gets you anymore.

Good as a replacement for the 8800GT

I bought the item as a replacement for my 8800GT which had gone dark on me (yes, I tried reinstalling the drivers, pulling and reinstalling the board). I popped it into the board in less than 5 minutes and had the computer running in a minute. No issues. There's not much improvement and only a minor bump in benchmark performance ('cept no more issues that go with a failing 8800GT, and now I can bump up the quality - but not frame rate - of some games), as I'm bottlenecked with my Core 2 Duo 3.0Ghz processor.

Poor Service and worthless product

I tried installing this product only to find that it was defective. I tried to contact the manufacturer only to be placed on hold for over two hours. I emailed and it has been two days with still no response back from them. Real disappointment so far.

greatly improved graphics with minimal power consumption

I did not want to also purchase a new enhanced power supply for my HP so I chose this graphics model. Improved video and refresh rate. I had not interest in gaming so my comment do not apply to that purpose. Installation was straightforward in Win 7 prof.
