I've got a dual core 2.7 with 4gb memory and windows 7 64 bit. A blu Ray player and CD/DVD burner plus 2 1.5tb Hard drives. I don't know about anyone else, but this card installed easily and runs great. I have no problems with anything on my PC especially Video. YouTube and HULU play great and my games like WOW are fantastic. Remember folks, don't spend more for your video card than your system is worth. In my humble opinion this card is great for the money and it runs DirectX 10 just fine. This card got great reviews when it came out and it's still a good card. If you have a system, so if you are looking for an inexpensive card to upgrade from an older card or no card at all, this card is excellent. Just remember to have a good enough power supply.

I bought two of these cards back in 2007 to make an SLI machine and they ran most games on high settings. They're not the best graphics cards to run 3D applications today, but they should increase performance on other applications like web browsers and word processing. This is a good budget card, but I would recommend a cheaper card if you're not going to run much 3D applications. If you're going to run 3D applications a lot, another good budget card I would recommend is a Geforce 8800 instead because those cards are old and cheap now and runs better than the 8600.

I recently purchased this video card and its doing a great job for me. The item came without the power cable so I emailed EVGA and a nice fellow responded within hours apologizing for the error. They sent me the power cable that same day. Nice folks to deal with.
