4Nice mix of price / performance
By J. Spencer
I'm upgrading from a GTX 260, which was a very good card. I never buy top of the line, so I knew a GTX 480 was out of the question. I always crunch the numbers on price / performance / power requirements / heat generation, and this card hits the sweet spot. It's SMALLER than my GTX260, yet outperforms the larger card -- if only slightly, and manages to generate less heat in the process. Heat is the enemy in the quest for ever-higher anti-aliased framerates!I can run Fallout3 fully maxed out with no lag whereas the GTX260 would hiccup with everything maxed on 1920 *1200. Dragon Age looks absolutely gorgeous on the 460 -- everything maxed @ 1920 * 1200, whereas I had to tweak my settings to get an acceptable framerate on the 260.If it were only to get slightly better performance in now-year-old games, however, I doubt I would have made the purchase. What I really find appealing about the 460, and 4xx series in general is the ability to stream HD Audio from an HDMI cable.Since my PC also doubles as my Home Theater, I can now watch blu-rays with full TrueHD / DTS-MA audio. Sweet!Ultimately, it was the combination of improved performance, improved efficiency, and the inclusion of HD Audio which made upgrade to this card.I'm more of a casual gamer, preferring to play games when they reach the year-old mark, so that I can get them for half-off, and I don't need the latest and greatest $500+ video card to play them. I imagine that the hardcore gamers would gravitate towards the GTX 480.

5Great card for your $$$
By Lil' Rowlands
After doing lots of game testing and testing OC performance, I have concluded that this card is better than my Radeon HD 5870 with a lot of games (especially PhysX heavy games). DiRT 2 and Metro 2033 look very nice and I've been hooked on Arkham Asylum again since I've seen what PhysX does on high settings.I use the MSI Afterburner utility and have my manual fan control settings at 46% and idle temps stay between 32-34c and under full loads is stays between 53-55c (never seen it peak above this yet). I have tried setting my fan control above 50% and sometimes the card is a tad noisy and I found that annoying. Also, if you have a well ventilated case (I use a Cooler Master HAF 932 full tower) then you should not need to use high fan control settings.DiRT 2 = beautiful (high settings + DirectX11 features - 1920x1080)Metro 2033 = beautiful (on full high settings + max tessellation + other DirectX 11 features - 1920x1080)Aliens Vs. Predator = beautiful (full high settings + DirectX11 features - 1920x1080)Arkham Asylum = beautiful (highest settings + high settings on PhysX + not using 3D vision - 1920x1080)Resident Evil 5 = beautiful (highest settings + not using 3D vision - 1920x1080)Rocket Knight = great (highest settings + other settings max'd out - 1920x1080)Crysis + Crysis: Warhead = great, although have not noticed much in comparison to my old Radeon HD (high - 1920x1080)Modern Warfare 2 = great (high - 1920x1080)Blu-ray playback is also very good with NVIDIA's built-in Pure Video HD technology.* * * * * * * * * *When I have OC'd my card, I have had some issues with it where games would freeze and drivers would stop working and recover again...Sadly I have to keep my settings close to factory defaults...Oh well, I still love how it performs even at factory defaults. Also, the card blows hot air from the card into your tower instead of through the back via an external exhaust.* * * * * * * * * *I wonder what ATI will do with their Radeon HD 6000-series lineup as I've heard they are mainly re-vamped 5000-series cards with higher clock speeds...Bring it on, ATI.I'm officially back in the GREEN camp.(This review is the same as my review on Newegg, but has some minor changes from original for Amazon review)

4Good card, if you can live with the noise
By Mark Twain
Having owned a previous Nvidea card, and wanting something a little more potent to play Skyrim, I opted for this card. The Good:The card, coupled with the latest Nvidea drivers offers excellent support for most modern games at a very reasonable price. The Bad:Wow, is this one noisy card. I could not believe how much noise it made, it is like a Harrier trying to take off! I initially thought my card was defective, however, having done some research, it would seem high noise levels are a trait of Palit cards.Good card, if you can live with the noise.
