I was very excited about the prospect of upgrading my Acer AX1301-U1302 Desktop PC (Black) computer. Although I originally purchased the computer to function as a video server (both local and via PlayOn server) I quickly came to realize that the computing power was suitable for gaming as well as streaming video. The one downside to the Acer is a very modest integrated video card. As I was on a tight budget, a little research was in order. I immediately determined that this card was within my price-point AND was passively cooled by that heat sink. I liked the idea of saving power with the heat sink versus a fan cooled unit.Much to my chagrin, the heat sink is actually too large to fit in the narrow space allotted in the computer. The space would need to be at least 1/2 inch larger to allow this card to fit. The pictures and illustrations do not due justice to the massive size of the heat sink.Any future purchasers should examine there computer and ensure that there is ample space for the card.I ordered PNY GeForce 9400 GT 1024MB PCI-Express 2.0 VGA + DVI Graphics Card VCG941024GXEB to replace this one. It does have a fan, but I'm sure it will fit and leave sufficient room for air circulation.

Prompt shipping, box contained both formats for Standard and New Slimline cases. My HP Pavilion Slimline s5112f has a PCIe slot it comes with motherboard graphics as standard. Fitting the nVidia was straighforward and troublefree. Installed drivers from supplied CD. The motherboard g/card rated 3.1 under Windows 7 Performance. Straight out of the box on max resolution the nVidia rated 4.1 in Windows 7.Games that ran poorly on this system now ran perfectly, very happy with this card, the heat sink does get hot but I like the fact that I dont need another fan.

I got the MSI Geforce N210 video card for my older computer with an Intel Pentium 4 (3ghz) and BioStar P4M90-M4 motherboard. My problem was that after installing the MSI graphics card the BIOS display was terribly slow. Installing the newest drivers didn't help. You could see each character in the BIOS screen being drawn and it took over 7 minutes to boot up. I found a posting from an NVIDIA tech that this was an MTRR problem and a driver fix had been sent to the video card manufacturers. But MSI support pooh-poohed what the NVIDIA tech guy said. MSI had me return the graphics card. When I got it back, it still had the slow BIOS problem. And it was now sometimes dropping the video and displaying a black screen. The computer was still running but there was no video, so I had to power off and reboot. I pulled the card after 2 black screens in 30 minutes. I replaced the card with a New Powercolor Ati Radeon Hd5450 512mb Ddr3 Vga/Dvi/Hdmi Pci-Express Video Card Ramdac 400 Mhz and haven't had any more problems. (I found the Radeon online for about the same price as the MSI.) It's not worth another $10 to ship it back to MSI again.With newer motherboards you shouldn't have this MTRR problem. Windows 7 gave the card a rating of 3.7.
