This card is possibly fine with some other O/S, but with Linux it is absolutely useless. I wasted my time trying every possible tweak and alternate drivers. ATI drivers do not support vertical sync for XVideo. With OpenGL the vertical sync is fine, but MythTV and DVD players then skip frames about once every minute, thus spoiling the viewing experience. If you ever consider running Linux in your computer, avoid ATI cards. Nvidia 8400GS is far better choice.

I purchased this card in order to enable the Windows 7 (or Vista) Aero feature on an older PC (2006). It does the job; Windows now reports a score of 3.5 for Aero capability, whereas the integrated graphics processor was only 1.9. (I believe that anything over 3 is passing.)This card is suitable for installation in a low profile box as well as a standard one. Both mounting brackets are included. The package also includes a DVI -> VGA adaptor in case you need one.There is no fan on the card, just a heatsink. This makes it suitable for HTPC (home theater) applications since there will be no fan noise. However, it also means that this card is probably not suitable if you are into the most graphically demanding games, which I am not.Overall, I am very happy with the purchase. At less than $35, it is quite a bargain; my older PC will now have a few more years of life left to it.

I purchased this as a cheap temporary solution for my 50 Plasma TV Media Center PC. Works so well that I never did change it out for a more high end card. HDMI hook up was flawless. Even has software controls over color not found on many higher cost brands. No fan makes it quiet. I recommend for medium to large cases with good ventilation. Completely satisfied.
