4It's a really good card! ... or is it?
By Justin Smith
I purchased this card several months ago to upgrade from the same class but in the 5xxx series, so the 5670. That was a great little card. And so is this. This is certainly no powerhouse though. It will NOT run the newest games on maximum settings at an enjoyable frame rate. It just won't. Odds are though, you're not looking for perfect, or you wouldn't be looking at a $100 card. Therefore, this card does it's job, and I am very satisfied.Let me list some stuff:Some pros: -- It gets the job done. With this card I can jump right in and crank all the settings up without worrying too much. My normal procedure for a new game is to crank it, play it, and then tune it down just a hair to get that smooth play with fancy graphics. -- It's silent. I can't hear the fan over my tower (and it's pretty quiet) until the fan is over 40%, which it should never get to (I'll explain why in the cons section) -- It's small. Don't have to worry if you have a small case or lots of PCI cards. It'll fit. -- Can throw this in any crappy old computer so long as there's a PCI-e and you'll get a good graphics boost. It's not demanding as far as power consumption goes, and is slot-powered, so no extra cabling needed! Some cons: -- This is the ONLY 6670 on the market that does NOT support Crossfire. (You can double check the validity of that, but the point is, this card does NOT) If you're not planning on using crossfire, then this is your card. If you are... this is not your card. -- As stated above, it is slot-powered. This doesn't come without a price (this applies to ALL slot powered cards). Kiss overclocking goodbye. It will not overclock. Yes, you can turn it up in CCC or some 3rd party software, but no, you will not see a difference (assuming it doesn't give you pin stripes or BSOD) In order to overclock anything on your system you must first give it more power. Period. Overclocking means Over-IEatMoreElectricity...ing. This is why the fan is so quiet. Due to the lack of power needed, it therefore runs cooler than other cards. Not to mention the large fan attached. A bigger fan is a quieter fan. (Despite what I just stated above, I tried overclocking anyway, because I'm a moron. Got about a grand total of 40mhz for the clock and memory... big whoop. Had that setting for about 2 months, and now it's burning up on me. Started getting artifacts all over my screen, and crashes. I've now turned OC off, and everything's good again.)(Side note for inexperienced budget graphics users: "Use Application Settings" are the boxes you ALWAYS want checked in the Catalyst Control Center. That program will murder your performance. Game clients generally handle their own graphics rendering much better.)(Another side note for beginners: Shadows and Anti-Aliasing are your biggest killers. Turning those down will increase your performance astronomically. Turn those down first when fine tuning your game's graphics. You may find it's all you need to do)Here's a small list of games I've played with maximum setting at 1920x1080 (generally between 20-35 fps.. it's a budget card, don't forget)- Battlefield Bad Company 2- Lord of the Rings Online- World of Warcraft- Skyrim- Star Wars: The Old Rebuplic- Mass Effect 1 & 2- Crysis 1- Dragon Age 1 & 2Alright, I hope this helps!!! :)EDIT: Apparently this card does support CrossfireX. I have done little research on that particular topic with this card, but hey, if it works then that's one more thumbs up from me!

5Great value, especially for low powered desktops
By John M. Brady
We bought this for my son's computer, so he could play some of the higher level games and continue his videography on his HP Pavilion. He can now play Portal 2 on its highest settings with absolutely no latency or any other issues. The board requires no additional power pigtails, drawing solely off the motherboard slot. At first, I was concerned about my power supply (300W) being insufficient, but we have had no problems. Of course, we only run it with one monitor. Driving multiple displays will, of course, increase the power requirements dramatically, so keep this in mind if you plan on using more than one. It is also incredibly quiet, even when its running full bore. Finally, we have had no problems concerning heat dissipation. We monitored the temperature in the case over the first month and have seen no major peaks or other concerns. For the price (under $100), you cannot beat the performance, especially for low-powered desktops. As long as the area just to the right of the slot is pretty clear, installation is a breeze. I had to re-route a cable or two, but nothing to dramatic. The instructions are straight-forward, just make sure you get the drivers from the website, as the drivers provided in the included CD are very old. All-in-all, we are extremely satisfied with this purchase. I would strongly recommend this video card to to most anyone, except the extremely hard-core gamer.

5fantastic deal
By neochris
If you play 3D games, Skyrim, in my case, this card gives the major Bang for the buck. I can't believe the improvement this card brings out:I can play games at higher resolution and detail, real eye candy.Game play is much more fluid, makes maneuvering easier and more enojoyable. You don't need $300 cards to enjoy 3D games.
