I started to see my frame rates dropping as new games have come out so I decided to upgrade, couldn't be more pleased for the price. Throw in a couple of free games and a 45-60fps in Bioshock Inifnite cranked up at 1080p I couldn't be happier. Super quiet compared to my 6870 as well.

While this worked, it was pretty great. Decent load temps and pretty quiet. HOWEVER, after only a short while, it began crashing to gray vertical lines during intense gaming. As it became more and more frequent, I contacted XFX for a repair. I have sent it in and am awaiting my repaired card. However, the website is "under construction" and XFX has been rather unresponsive to my emails. Hopefully this will work out, but I know that I won't be buying XFX any time soon since this is the first defective computer part I've received.

Initially I was very excited to receive this card and put my old 6850 to rest. Upon plugging this card in and testing it, I was immediately appalled by the temperatures. I ran Furmark tests to see what this card could do and found the temperatures were climbing to over 104 C under load!! I checked to be sure the fan was working, and it was. While gaming, the card was nearing 90 C. Those kinds of temps are unacceptable and XFX should be ashamed to release a card with such a junk cooling solution! I inspected the cooler, and there was zero copper to be found via the naked eye. No copper pipes, no copper heat sink, notta. It should be noted that all other temperatures within my PC were fine, as well as the temps of my previous card.Not only were the temperatures bad, the performance increase between this and my old overclocked 6850 was negligible, as proven with Furmark and gaming results. Within two hours of testing this card, I had Newegg on the phone requesting an RMA. What a joke! I wish I would have read up more on forums around the web, as it appears XFX has a less than stellar reputation when it comes to the manufacturing of Radeon cards. I will never buy an XFX card again.
