Silent, Light Weight, Powerful, and did I mention SILENT!
By Konquerian
I got this card to replace my 4 years old first generation, huge and very noisy, Diamond Viper HD 3870 ATI card.-DIAMOND Viper Radeon HD 3870 512MB 256-bit GDDR4 PCI Express 2.0 x16Installing the card was a breeze due to the light weight of the card. By just looking at the picture, it looks much heavier, but it is really light weight which is good because it puts less pressure on the motherboard slot. But you must be very careful handling the card when installing because the heatsink fins are easily bent. Also, the copper heat pipes extend outward from the back of the card, giving the card a longer length, so for those looking to build a small silent PC, it is something to look into. But even with the heat pipes adding to the length of the card, it is still shorter than those higher end cards, like the Radeon 7970.After locking the card in place, I download the latest driver suite from AMD's website. About 10 minutes of driver install time and a system reboot, the card is good to go. At this point, I am thankful that its not a DOA.I begin to test out my new card by firing up my Medieval II Total War game mod which is very resource hungry with high demand on video power. I tuned up all the settings to their max. Needless to say the performance was quite impressive. The game loaded up at least 5 times faster (compared to my old card, but keep in mind that all settings were not set to max with the old card). Battles and maps change and load at also 5 times faster even at max settings. My old card occasionally had hiccups and lags when moving across the map and during battles, but this card ran smoothly without hiccups at all. However, of course, I'm sure that many other cards can perform much better, but keep in mind that this is a fanless card, so its power can only go so far. Still, this card can put many cards to shame with its performance.I didn't stress this card with any of those more current games out in the market because I'm not a heavy gamer so I don't own any of the more current games. And for those who do own such games, I'm sure this card can still perform well without disappointment (but don't expect this to be a 7970 card, cause otherwise, you will be disappointed). I did read some of the reviews online about this card before I decided to purchase one. And I read on some of those, they were testing this card with Diablo III and this card performs quite well in medium to high settings. But not everyone can get the same result, because the CPU that is used in the system, play an important role in the performance as well. However, if you are playing Diablo III, I'm pretty sure you will have an up-to-date gaming rig to go along with it.Lastly, this card is completely silent during operation due to the fanless design. No more jet blast noise coming from your system. It is also a green card, meaning that it is energy efficient, running at low power consumption. It also comes with a 2 years manufacturer warranty . As of this review, the 7750 is the best fanless card out in the market. Next step down would be the Radeon HD 6670 in the fanless family.PROs:+ Fanless design, completely silent, 0 dBA+ Green card, consumes only 55 watts at load and under 25 watts when idle+ GDDR5 memory compare to other GDDR3 fanless cards+ PCI-Express 3.0 x16 instead of PCI-Express 2.1 x16+ Light weight, means no added stress on the motherboard slot+ Runs fairly cool even at load+ 1GB video ram is always a good thing+ 2 years warrantyCONs:- 128-bit memory interface and not 256-bit- Only 512 Stream Processors- Heatsink fins bent too easily- Not a 7970 replacement- Lacks power when compared to higher end cards- Price is still a little too highOverall, this is a great performing fanless card, with a reasonable price tag and very generous in term of power consumption to save on electric bill. Plus, it will give your ears peace and quiet. I would definitely recommend this card to anyone looking for a semi-powerful, yet silent, graphics card for their system. Just don't expect this card to perform like the higher end cards then you will definitely be satisfied with it like myself.

Unfortunately, it failed in just a few days.

It was definitely quiet. I used it in my HTPC. Noise wasn't a problem when I was using my PowerColor HD 5770, but I had a customer who needed a video card really bad, so I sold that to them and thought this would be an upgrade. It wasn't. I am not sure, but though I use an Antec Nine Hundred v3 as my HTPC case and had great airflow, this card seemed to getting very hot and it does not even require a PCI-e power plug. I replaced it with an Nvida GTX- 460 and that works great. This might be major overkill, but I now use an Evga GTX 660 and the picture is incredible. I like PowerColor products and this is the only card I have had any sort of issue with. I wasn't too impressed with how it was seated on the card. It seemed a bit flimsy.

Great, quiet performance

Was looking for something to replace a noisy 2yr old vid card, needed to handle decent settings for GW2, COD (several), and a few other titles. This card performed better than expected, allowing settings between "high" and "ultra" for the most demanding titles, and top settings for older titles. It also doesn't make a sound, and runs several degrees Celsius cooler than the previous card, which had an extremely noisy variable fan, along with a very large heat-sink. All in all a great upgrade.
