I bought 3 of these cards in Dec 2011 and now all 3 have failed. Amazon has been kind enough to honor the manufacturer's warranty on these, but still they shouldn't be failing like this. The first failed after about 6 months and now within 15 months all 3 have failed. Reliability is quite poor.

Outstanding value for what I needed. Put this card in a custom-built "box" paired with an Intel i3-2125 for my 18 year old daughter. Even though the i3-2125 does indeed come with Intel's on-board HD3000 graphics, I wanted a little more boost in graphics for game-play and video...nothing sophisticated. Popped the card in, fired it up, downloaded AMD's latest drivers and voila...works perfectly. Highly recommend anyone purchasing older AMD/ATI video cards like this to NOT load up the drivers and Catalyst Control Center from the accompanying CD, but rather go to AMD's website and download the latest from there and put them on your primary drive with your operating system, of course. Easy as pie. Thanks Amazon...your price was better than Newegg's so you got my business on this one ;)

This card runs decent on my system. Considering I installed it on an old Dell dual core 2.4 GHz with 350W PSU, it's about the maximum card the machine can handle without additional upgrades. I liked the design of the fan on the Sapphire better than others that I've seen, and it runs fairly cool or at least comparable to other brands. It noticeably improved Vista Ultimate graphics performance by (I would guess) double the former speed of my HD 2600 XT. Because of that, Vista now operates seemingly about twice as fast as it did before. Skyrim can generally run at about 30-35 fps on average on high settings or some might consider it med-high settings and that's at 1920x1080 with minimal AA. But that performance came after many patches and many tweaks to both the game and ATI drivers.Which leads me to one of the drawbacks, the ATI drivers are sometimes difficult to install and setup properly. They sometimes lose performance with new updates over the previous version. Therefore, it is often better to stick with a particular version of the ATI drivers, if you have them running stably, rather than update the drivers. Also, I expected some older games like Oblivion to run better with this card. The performance is not significantly better than my old card, but that could also be because Oblivion is not capable of utilizing all of the new technology.In summary, for a $102 and some change, it's a good card to give a boost to an aging machine or get that last little bit of life. HD content displays fine by my standards. But it's not likely to give satisfying performance to someone who has become enthusiastic about gaming graphics.
