GTX 580 Done Okay
By Biggs
NOTE: RATED 2 STARS INITIALLY - SEE EDIT NOTES BELOWA single card works great and would most likely be a great product for the casual user; however, I bought these with the intention of running SLI for 3D gaming new games at the top graphics settings. I have all the latest hardware. I set these two up in a 90 degree setup (the graphics cards are sitting vertically in my case with exhaust pointing towards the ceiling) with 2x 120mm fans below blowing air into the case. The cards in SLI top out at 94 Degrees Celsius despite having a great air cooling configuration for gpu. I even hit the 94 degrees when I down clocked the cards to less than stock speed (750 Mhz).(Note: If you don't know what I mean by "90 degree setup" my computer case is a TJ11 by Silver Stone. Google this and you may get a better idea of what I'm describing)My guess is as follows:Either the card's advance cooling didn't anticipate being in a 90 degree configurationorMy air cooling isn't that great. In all, I'm a bit disappointed that I have to constantly fear of overheating my cards. If you're only interested in a single card, this card maybe right for you, but any real enthusiasts out there, save your money for something better. In addition, MSI's OC software was difficult to install. Every time I tried to install it and run it, it would error and say something to the effect that installation went wrong. After repeatedly downloading the latest OC software from MSI, the software was functional but less than stellar looking and not that intuitive. You can make changes to the clock speed and not be sure if you did them correctly. You have to click "APPLY" to make the change effective & click "SAVE" to make it a permanent change (from what I've gathered).Honestly, OCing a SLI GPU set up was probably a bad idea. The returns are very diminishing to OC in SLI.EDIT: 4 STARSIt was due to my ignorance, but my cards were over heating because I thought my motherboard was best suited to have the cards right on top of each other. After reading the motherboard manual, I realized that spacing them into slots 1 & 3 were recommended for top speed. Not 1 & 2. Now the cards seem to be peaking around 72 degrees celcius. NIGHT AND DAY is the different. So if you plan on going SLI with these, make sure you have a motherboard that can support spacing them. As they run too hot (even when downclocked to 600 mhz) to have them sitting on top of each other.

Final Thoughts
By MARIAM MOHAMAD ABOHAIDER
Gigabyte is best known for its blue motherboards, undoubtedly some of the best in the business.carries an improved cooling solution out of the box. With most board partners scared to push the 244w GTX 580 far beyond its reference spec,Gigabyte's card was barely audible over other components in the system such as the case fans, power supply and CPU cooler.Mariam Haider

Perfect
By DNG
Can run BF3 on ultra settings with a single card. Quiet. Nothing to complain about after 8 months of having it (except it is still pricey).
